The CVS 1919 syndicate began underwriting in October of 2006.

The initial focus of the syndicate was Aviation, Energy, Marine, and Technical Risk Property business. The syndicate has now expanded to include Casualty, Accident & Health, General Property, and Construction.

The Active Underwriter for CVS 1919 is Christopher Hancock. The syndicate has a stamp capacity of £180 million in 2008 and £225 million in 2009.

Syndicate 1919 is managed by Starr Managing Agents Limited (SMAL), a Lloyd's Managing Agent.
