The FRC 2243 syndicate began underwriting in November of 2007.

Syndicate 2243 is capitalized by the First Reserve Corporation, and managed by Starr Managing Agents Limited (SMAL), a Lloyd's Managing Agent.

The focus of the 2243 syndicate is to underwrite Energy and Technical Risks business as a companion line to the Starr Technical Risks portfolio of CVS 1919.

The Active Underwriter for FRC 2243 is David Stewart. The syndicate has a stamp capacity of £30 million in 2008 and £35 million in 2009.
